It leads, from the "chemin de ronde", opposite the barbican, to the town hall of Gavray. It offers beautiful views of the river and the village and provides access, halfway up the hill, to the picnic and information area.
This is probably where the first line of fortifications was located, which is mentioned when the castle was taken by Richemont in 1449.
