The ArchéoCotentin II exhibition at the Thomas Henry Museum, designed in partnership with Inrap, the City of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, the Regional Archaeology Service (Drac Normandie) and the Cotentin Archaeological Research Group (GRAC), is the second part of a cycle of exhibitions on local archaeology. Open from December 1, 2023 to March 10, 2024, it invites you to explore the human adventure that has profoundly shaped the Cotentin, from Antiquity to the Middle Ages.
In this exhibition, it is possible to see three showcases related to Gavray.
One is entirely dedicated to the Castle, the other two contain objects found on the site or in other places. This is the first time these objects have been exhibited.
Jocelyne Leparmentier, who was in charge of the excavations and President of the Association at the time, participated in the creation of the accompanying explanations of these objects in the exhibition catalogue.
If you have the opportunity, this is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the past of Gavray and the Cotentin. |
