PLANNING

The first developments

At the same time as the excavations, a project to develop the site was launched. It was modest at first, limited to the installation of explanatory panels, the installation of picnic tables, the restoration of some walls, and the maintenance of the site and the undergrowth.

A fitness trail has also been created around the hill.

Overall development in 2001

The idea is always to create a global layout that enhances both the remains and the surrounding nature, which satisfies both the walker and the history or archaeology enthusiast. After twenty years of effort, under the impetus of the municipality of Gavray and with the support of all the authorities concerned, this development was finally carried out in 2001.

The 2015 Guided Tour

In 2015, our association, in collaboration with Manche Numérique, produced a 14-stage guided tour called KIT-M in 3 languages (French, German, English) which usefully complements the information on the history and remains of the castle contained in the  "Great Books"  and the "Writing Desks".

A chapter is entirely dedicated to it in the "Site" menu (or via this LINK). A number of downloads are available there.
