Between the two construction areas visible today on the platform, one can see, dug into the ground, a cistern, almost completely filled. It has retained its interior plaster and part of its vault. In a nineteenth-century description, there is mention of the traces on the ground of gullies bringing rainwater to it.
The cistern is an essential element for the defence of the castle. In the event of a siege, it was necessary to be able to supply men and horses with water. It can be assumed to be very profound.
